Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

At Cam Hopton C of E Primary School we recognise that all children are unique and that all children have individual needs. As a school we pride ourselves on our inclusive ethos and our aim to nurture and support each child to ensure they reach their full potential. To ensure all children are fully supported, it may be necessary to provide additional or different provision to enable them to achieve this.

We believe that all children are entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum with quality first teaching at the heart of what we provide. All teachers are teachers of children with SEN and ensure that their lessons are planned to a high standard with differentiation to ensure the needs of all children are met and that all children are able to achieve the learning objective. Alongside the Quality first teaching, children with SEN will have additional provision provided to ensure that they are fully supported and able to succeed.  At Cam Hopton we are committed to raising the aspirations of, and the expectations for all pupils with SEN.

Please look through the following pages to learn more about the support and provision that we can provide at Cam Hopton to support all of the children.

The Provision tab will demonstrate not only the provision we have available, but also a brief description of what this means.

The information for parents provides a question and answer style booklet where we aim to inform you about all of the changes to SEN, how we support children and a wealth of other questions you may have.

Finally, the local offer section has links to support and information throughout the county for children with SEN. It also has links to information for parents from both the school and the government.

Cam Hopton's SEND Coordinator is Mrs Kerry Whitney and she can be contacted through the school office. Details of which are on the Contact page.
